Historical Movement Archive

The Historical Movement Archive is a project contracted by a historian studying 15th century weapon-fighting techniques. His vision was to create an art museum exhibit-style experience where users could witness these fighting styles in motion, digitally recreated from motion captured actors.

My contribution to this project, aside from general design decision input and formulation of the Unity project file, was the weaponry used by the actors. This included modelling, texturing, and rigging each weapon with a bone so that the character model could hold it and move with it.

My team and I created the prototype of this application, which was then passed on to a different team to continue development. The app runs through SteamVR, so both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are able to run it.
